Wrapping Up 2011

Hi friends! Did you have a nice week? I am back from Puerto Rico, which was absolutely lovely – the Dysfunctional Family Vacation was the least dysfunctional it’s been in a looooooong time :) full recap and pictures coming soon… next year!

Yes, next year. Because 2012 is basically HERE, which is absolutely insane. Am I the only one who feels like this year FLEW? I feel like I was JUST in Denver ringing in 2011 with my besties in a snowy cabin in the woods!

Anyway, I figured that with the new year right around the corner, it might be fun to take a look back at some of my favorite things that I did, saw, ate, and of course, bought in 2011!

The Queen's 2011 Favorites

My favorite TV show – I never miss an episode of The New Girl, which I refer to as simply “The Zooey Show.” I am head over heels for Zooey Deschanel and her odd, quirky humor… but hands down the best part of the show is SCHMIDT!

New-Girl-Jess

My favorite movie - I blogged about it last week! Click here to read my list of my Top Ten favorite films of 2011!

My favorite books – I couldn’t put down Mindy Kaling’s “Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns)” or Tina Fey’s “Bossypants." Clearly, I have a major thing for funny women.

fey-kaling

My favorite gift – That would have to be my iPad, my birthday gift from my mom. I read books, watch movies, play on the internet… thank you Mommy for contributing to my eternal procrastination!

My favorite restaurant: Anytime I have an out-of-town guest or special occasion to celebrate, I pick up the phone and call Animal. It’s not a place you can go every week, for sure (all that MEAT? your cholesterol would go THROUGH THE ROOF!), but for a once-in-a-while treat, it can’t be beat.

IMG_7499

My favorite vacations: How can I pick just one? It’s a tie between FART, my roadtrip through the South with my best friend, and my weekend in Scottsdale over the summer with my boyfriend – our first trip together!

fart

My favorite purchase: Contenders for this section include my gorgeous Zara sequined clutch, my beloved Tory Burch leopard ballet flats, or my glittery Marcia Moran druzy necklace, but in the end, electronics win out over accessories :) How did I survive before I had my iPhone? The thing runs my entire life, and looks damn good doing it!

My favorite memory: I tried to think of one that stood out above the rest, but a lot of great things happened this year. I bonded with an incredible new roommate. My best friends got engaged, got married, had babies. I started dating my amazing, wonderful boyfriend. Now that I think about it, 2011 was full of new beginnings.

JMS Pics Dec 2011 012

Wishing you all a safe and happy NYE, however you choose to celebrate! I’ll be welcoming 2012 with a fun little shindig at my apartment, so I’m off to bake cookies and track down caviar and champagne. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure to show plenty of pictures of the celebration next week :)

Thank you all for continuing to read Queen of LA!

So Ready for Vacation!

Well friends, as of tonight, I am OFF to Puerto Rico! I'm excited to get away and relax!

Looking forward to seeing THIS view in person...

After a day spent doing nothing but tanning and swimming, the whole fam will regroup together and head out for a night to eat some of this...

And of course, drink some fruity drinks - I may have a mojito or three...

Pretty Prints

I LOVE buying unique artwork and prints and unfortunately, I need to do it on a budget. I’ve blogged about my love for 20x200 before, so imagine how excited I was when I came across Society 6!

It’s one of those websites that’s probably been around forever, but it’s new to me and I’m super excited about it. The coolest thing about the site? The artwork that you choose can be printed onto a variety of different things, like laptop skins, iPhone cases, sweatshirts, canvases, t-shirts, you name it!

You can search by category, too, which I appreciate – helps to navigate the site easily. I chose “Abstract”, since that’s my favorite type of artwork. Here are some of my favorites:

Bianca Green

320507_2734814_b

Sandra Dieckmann

Kris Tate

Kate Kosek

317116_1317704_b

Budi Satria Kwan

208027_5681160_b

Stephen Womack

190168_8379364_b

Stephen Womack

I am especially partial to the last two, by Stephen Womack. I LOVE me some color – I would totally buy these as canvases or frame them with a simple white frame and hang them side by side. Maybe I’ll do just that!

Are you familiar with Society 6? See anything you like?

Note: this is not a sponsored post. I just think this website is cool so I wanted to share it with all of you! :)

Vacay Bound!

YALL! I've been so busy buying gifts and attending Christmas party sing-a-longs and adding movies to my 2011 list that I completely forgot to fill you in on some upcoming fun: I'm going on vacation!

To Puerto Rico, to be exact! On Friday I will set off and join about a billion (not really, I think around 14) of my family members for the annual DYSFUNCTIONAL FAMILY VACATION.

Yep, it's time for the DFV! For those of you who aren't familiar.... every December my entire extended family on my mom's side takes a weeklong vacation to a tropical locale for some fun in the sun and family bonding. It's always a shit show... hence the name, DFV :)

I've been running around trying to set aside odds and ends aside to pack. Here's a list of some stuff that's definitely making into my suitcase... and a couple other things I wish would find their way in there!

vacay

This Forever 21 lace top is great - it can easily be dressed up or down. Mine is black lace, but the mint is so pretty!

Holy mother of god these Cynthia Vincent wedges are AMAZING. Colorful tribal embroidery? UM, YES PLEASE.

I was ten feet away from the door to the parking lot when I spied these Chloe sunglasses - on sale! - in Nordstroms. Five minutes later they were in my bag. I love the chocolate brown matte color of the frames!

Ever since I first spied this J.Crew polka-dotted wonder in their catalogue this summer, I've loved it. Summery spots!

Ever since watching The Hunger Games trailer, I can't get the story out of my mind. I plan on downloading and reading all three books while away - gotta catch up before the movie comes out!

I used a Gilt credit to snap up these gorgeous Kendra Scott Darby earrings a couple of weeks ago. Can't wait to wear them!

I came across this Target dress on their website and fell in love. It comes in a million colors (my favorite is this pretty lemon shade) and is convertible - you can wear it strapless, one-sided, with sleeves... the options are endless!

It's not a vacation without a tan... fingers crossed that this lotion helps me get a golden glow!

Clearly, I'm thinking a LOT of color - it's been so cold and grey in LA lately, I'm ready to brighten it up!

Are any of you going anywhere for the holidays? I'm excited to get away for a few days... the beach is calling my name!

Movie Madame

My boyfriend has taught me many things. He introduced me to alternative comedy and comedians who I now know and love. He convinced me to trust him and go with him on the subway during our trip to New York. Even though I consider myself a sushi expert, he told me about an off-the-menu spicy tuna roll at our favorite place, and now I can’t imagine my life without it!

In addition to those things, he has also taught me to love movies. Now, don’t get me wrong – I always LIKED movies. I have always been the girl who would much rather go to a nice dinner and new release rather than a crazy night out at the club. But since starting to date Rami, who graduated from an Ivy League school with a degree in film, I have learned so much more about movies!

It’s almost 2012, and apparently, the end of the year is the time when film geeks worldwide start compiling their “Top Ten” lists – deciding which films, out of all the ones they saw during the year, were their favorite and their best. This is an entirely new concept to me, but Rami has been hard at work on his own Top Ten list… so I figured, why not do my own?

This year alone, I saw THIRTY FIVE movies. 29 of them were with R – this year, he saw more than 70! When I took the time to write them all down and think about them, I couldn’t believe how many there were. That’s like THREE DAYS STRAIGHT watching movies!

So here is MY list of MY favorite movies of 2011. Please remember: I am NOT a professional film critic – I just date one :)

10. Happy Feet 2 – I hadn’t seen the original Happy Feet til Rami and I watched it on DVD at home, and I instantly fell in love with the penguins – especially Baby Mumble, the penguin baby! Once R told me that the sequel featured a TON of baby penguins, I knew we had to see it. It was super cute and kept my attention the whole time, despite being a movie for little kids :) (Sidenote - am I the only one who really likes when super famous people voice cartoon characters?)

happy-feet-two-movie-poster-4

9. 50/50 – Oh, Rami and I BOTH cried like babies during this one. I am a huge fan of Seth Rogan and I liked seeing him stretch beyond his usual stoner/frat boy persona. I also thought Joseph Gordon-Levitt did a great job of conveying the complex emotions behind a cancer diagnosis at a young age.

8. Like Crazy – What I liked about Like Crazy is that it was a different kind of love story. Most of the time, I feel like romantic movies don’t have enough at stake – I always feel like no matter what happens, the couple will end up together in the end. I didn’t have that feeling while watching Like Crazy – that uncertainty kept me invested in the couple throughout the film.

7. The Help – I am basically the only woman in America who DIDN’T read the book – I know, I really need to – but more than the interesting story, I thought that it was incredibly well-acted. Rumor has it that some of these ladies will get Academy Award nominations from their performances in this film, and I agree that they’re deserving of all accolades!

helpposter

6. Crazy Stupid Love – Basically, I like everyone in this movie. Emma Stone, Steve Carell, Julianne Moore, and the MOST GORGEOUS HUMAN BEING ALIVE Ryan Gosling? There was no way it was going to be bad. This was just a fun film to watch – and I LOVED the surprise at the end!

5. Shame – Rami started preparing me for this movie days before we saw it. He’s very good about making sure he warns me about movies he considers “off the beaten path” – he made sure to tell me that Shame had a lot of nudity and graphic sex. Though those are not things I usually like about films, I found that my feelings of discomfort actually increased my appreciation of this movie. It wasn’t like the nudity or sex was gratuitous or NOT essential to the film’s plot; rather, these elements were completely necessary and seemed designed to elicit uncomfortable feelings from the audience.

4. The Ides of March – I think the mark of a good movie is one you are thinking about long after it ends. Besides featuring two of my all-time favorite actors (and eye candy) Ryan Gosling and George Clooney, I thought that this film’s strength was in its ambiguity – I didn’t feel as though I was being led to believe one person was entirely “good” or “bad”, which seems truthful to how people in politics really behave. Another interesting thing about this film is that my mom and I had completely differing views on a certain plot point, increasing the feeling of ambiguity.

3. Bridesmaids – I NEED to own Bridesmaids on DVD. I saw it once, in May, in the theater, and yet some scenes are permanently etched into my mind! (Yes, I’m obviously talking about the bathroom scene.) I am a huge fan of Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, and Melissa McCarthy, and if the rumors about a sequel are true, I’ll be there opening night for sure! An all-around amazing comedy with amazing female participation, both in front of and behind the cameras.

Bridesmaids_Poster66

2. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 – The Harry Potter books and movies will always have a special place in my heart. As a lifelong lover of books, I can honestly say that I have never felt more strongly about a group of characters before in my life, and the movies do an amazing job of capturing those feelings of comfort and familiarity. I cried hysterically when this movie was over – not only because of the plot, but also because I couldn’t believe that that was the last film.

1. Drive – I can honestly say that Drive was one of the most unique movies I’ve ever seen. I was not at all familiar with the plot or the director before I sat down in my seat – I had no idea what to expect. While the film itself definitely scared me a few times (I had to hide my face), it is definitely the movie that I have talked about or referenced the most during the months after. I downloaded one of the songs from the soundtrack and whenever I listen to it, I think about the movie. I’m not a huge fan of re-watching films, but I definitely want to see or even buy this one when it comes out on DVD.

drive-movie-poster

So there you have it! (I can only imagine the MASSIVE smile on Rami’s face right now… he’s definitely thinking “WHAT HAVE I DONE!?”) This weekend I’ll add another film to the list (Young Adult) and next week, I’m planning on seeing New Year’s Eve with some friends. So my total will really be 37! Crazy.

What was the best movie YOU saw all year? I really want to know!

(Oh, and you have a couple more days to enter the Stella & Dot giveaway. YALL! What are you waiting for?!)

Picture This

So! In November, I rounded up a bunch of fun pictures from my brand new iPhone and basically insisted you all oooh and ahhh over them. Since that was exactly a month ago, I figured it was time to do it again!

Funny story about this nail polish - I have LONG been searching for the perfect purple-y/pink polish. I've tried dozens of OPI and Essie colors - nothing fit what I had in my mind! That is, until I walked into my nail salon and my manicurist was doing her own nails in this random, no-label brand. I begged her to let me try it, and once it was on, I loved it so much I asked her if she'd consider a trade... so now I'm the proud owner of this pretty color, and she has a brand new bottle of Essie!

Aren't my new Karma Living pillows gorgeous? I first spotted them when I was in New York over Thanksgiving in the Union Square Christmas Market and fell in love, but I didn't have room for them in my suitcase. Two days later, I scored them online on Gilt!

My two FAVORITE types of sushi - sea urchin and salmon roe! This was at Katsuya before the Katy Perry concert - delicious!

My mom made these rainbow fruit skewers for her Hanukkah party last week. She got the idea from Pinterest (yes she's so cute, she's on Pinterest!) This is the easiest and cutest idea ever, perfect for any kind of shindig!

Last time I did a little roundup, my good friend Grace suggested I join Instagram to make iPhone collages. I think she's onto something - might be worth looking into!

Oh, and if you haven't entered my Stella & Dot giveaway, what are you waiting for?! You could be the lucky one to win a gorgeous rose gold bracelet, just in time for the holidays and New Years Eve. You'll be the sparkliest one of all!

A Seriously Sparkly Giveaway!

Yay, yay, yay! It’s been a while since I did one of these, and I can’t think of a better time than now. It’s time for a giveaway!

Last week, I was at my synagogue’s annual Hanukkah Boutique, strolling through the aisles, eating treats, and trying to keep my mom from buying things that she didn’t need. We each picked out a new set of sheets, I ordered new stationery, and we sashayed around until we came across the Stella & Dot booth.

(Are yall familiar with Stella & Dot? It’s such a cool idea. You can click here to learn more about the company, but basically, it provides women with the opportunity to sell gorgeous accessories and jewelry. I have a couple Stella & Dot pieces that I’ve bought over the years that I absolutely love.)

ANYWAY. We started looking at all the sparkly jewels in the booth, and lo and behold, I spotted this beauty:

sd1

How GORGEOUS!? Yall, I am a rose gold FREAK. This bracelet spoke my name from the moment I laid eyes on it. “I’ll take it!” I said immediately. “In fact, I’ll take three” – one for myself, my mom, and my sister.

As she started writing down my order, the S&D stylist, Jamie, introduced herself to me, and we started chatting it up like old pals. Before long, I had told her about my blog and she had promised to check it out, and within minutes, we had decided to partner together…

…To give away the very same bracelet I was purchasing! Yup, one of you is going to win it! And then we can be bracelet twins :)

Here’s how to enter:

1. Visit Jamie’s Stella & Dot’s website and take a look around at all the gorgeousness!

2. Leave me a comment with the name of your favorite piece, your name, and your email where I can reach you if you win!

*For an extra chance to win, you can “like” Jamie’s Stella & Dot Facebook page! Leave me a second comment if you do so I can make sure to count you twice!

Please note: You MUST be an official follower of this blog with Google Friend Connect (over there on the right) and on the Queen of LA Facebook page to be eligible to win!

I am so excited about this giveaway – this bracelet is seriously gorgeous. And even if you don’t win, don’t forget to check out the rest of Stella & Dot’s stuff for some serious sparkle - perfect for the holidays! (If you're considering ordering a gift for someone for the holidays, here's the deal: according to Jamie, orders typically take 3-5 days to be shipped, so Hanukkah gifts would arrive by one of the last few nights. As for Christmas, you can order with standard shipping as late as December 21st.)

sd2

Look how cute the bracelet looks as part of a stack!

The winner will be chosen on Monday, December 19th, and announced on Tuesday, December 20th. Good luck!

Another Birthday Poem for Beckles!

Holy shit. Today is Gerrick's birthday! My best friend is 27! So to celebrate, as is my tradition, it's time for a birthday poem :)

Crazy but true! A whole year has passed,
365 days passed super fast.
A lot has changed in only one year,
Except our friendship, which remains so dear!

375118_10100595170480482_10101115_56930730_1559854699_n

Every day at 8:06, I get in my car,
And I call Gerrick, in Texas so far.
I drive to work while we chat all the while,
I get off the phone and I can't help but smile :)

308461_10100595168494462_10101115_56930696_1540347705_n

Just the sound of my bestie's voice brightens my day,
It really doesn't matter what she's got to say,
We chat about boys, sushi, work, puppies and more,
Nothing with Gerrick is ever a bore.

249612_10100339989490232_10101115_54567026_6374230_n

We both have iPhones so no more BBms,
But now FACETIME bothers all of our friends,
I hold up the phone to see Gerr's smiling face,
It doesn't matter if I'm in a public place!

IMG_0275

The biggest change of all will happen real soon,
In July of next year, right after June.
She will walk down the aisle and say "I do!"
Then she'll be a Conroy, it'll be Gerrick who!?

249258_10100339992429342_10101115_54567127_4410640_n

So many years of friendship, so many more to come,
So much laughter, so many memories, and so much fun!
Today's her special day and for that we celebrate,
Because Rebecca Gerrick is pretty fucking great!

IMG_1081

Happy, happy birthday to my hilarious, beautiful, kind, loving, generous best friend. I love you so much and hope you have the HAPPIEST day! :)

It’s finally Friday... time for my last gift guide! Today’s roundup features a bunch of fabulous items any girl would love to own... all under $50!

They’re not cheap - they’re budget-friendly yet still totally amazing! Your friends will love them and you’ll still have enough cash for a cute dress for New Years Eve!

50gg

I may not drink, but even I can appreciate the adorableness that is these little shot glasses! “High maintenance doesn’t even begin to cover it” and “I love not camping” are my favorites. So freaking cute and sassy! ($19.95 for the set)

In my mind, anything Iomoi is simply amazing. Last year for Hanukkah, Bailey surprised me with this amazing memo pad (leopard and lucite, HELLO!), my keychain is adorned with a snazzy Iomoi suede tassel, and who WOULDN’T look amazing with that chic yellow striped scarf tossed around their neck? ($48, $38, and $50, respectively)

As a lover of A) chevron-print anything, and B) tiny little boxes, I am absolutely obsessed with these little catch-alls from the cutest online boutique, The Zhush! ($48 each)

I love the simplicity of this Jules Smith bracelet - available in gold, silver, or rose gold (my favorite!), it’s one of those bracelets that goes with everything the wearer already owns. ($50)

I love every single print Nicole Cohen (of Sketch42 fame) makes. I confess to regularly drooling over them in her Etsy shop - the colors, the patterns, I love it all! How gorgeous is this one? Would look AMAZING in a simple white frame!

Look at that snazzy little leopard pouch - I just want to fill it with trinkets! And it’s from Gap of all places! ($29.95)

I’ve posted this Kate Spade iPhone case before, but honestly, I love it too much not to include here. Is it crazy if I buy it, even though I have a perfectly good case?! I love those rainbow polka dots! ($35)

That concludes my week of gift guides... hope you all found them helpful! Wishing you a fantastic weekend :)

Royal Gift Guide: Presents for the Boy

This week is flying by! Last night in between picking up some gifts at my synagogue's Hanukkah Boutique and getting to hold a sweet one month-old baby for a few hours, I finished up today's gift guide.

Let's hear it for the boys! If you're having trouble picking out the perfect gift for your boyfriend, husband, brother, cousin, or pal, maybe one of these choices will work!

mens

Any guy would look hot in this classic Ralph Lauren pullover. I'm partial to the grey and the brown! ($95)

Every guy I know speaks of the Art of Shaving in an awed and reverent tone. I have no idea what they do there, but I do know that every guy loves it! If you don't live near an Art of Shaving store, what about a luxury shaving starter kit? ($50)

Earlier this year, Rami's friend Cory started his own company, Hook & Albert. Their mission is to offer men fashionably edgy choices for fun and exciting socks, ties, and other accessories! I LOVE their socks - so colorful and cute! ($30 per pair)

The coziest gift idea ever - I love buying people warm snuggly slippers! You'd be surprised how many guys walk around their houses barefoot with freezing toes. He'll be so appreciative of these fleece-lined moccasins! ($49.95)

This is SO COOL! If your token male is, in fact, a token male and loves standing over the barbeque grilling meat, this monogrammed steak brander is THE BEST GIFT IDEA EVER! I honestly can't think of anything a dad or uncle who likes to grill would like more. ($39.95)

Ladies, come on. If you really can't think of something your guy will like, make it easy on yourself and buy a pair of concert or game tickets. Your man will love you AND it's something fun to do together!

I've got a couple more gift guides for you this week, so don't forget to check back tomorrow and Friday! Hope yall are having a great week :)

Royal Gift Guide: Presents for the Techie

Hope you all liked my first guide guide yesterday featuring fun stuff for the home! I’m back today with a new roundup of items geared specifically for your most tech-savvy pal!

tech

I’m an iPad girl myself, but I have friends who rave about their Kindles. It’s worth checking out the new Kindle Fire just for the price alone - $199 for a color tablet that lets you watch movies, stream music, go online, and of course, read books!

This Jonathan Adler Smartphone Dock makes a perfect gift because it’s one of those things that everyone would like, but no one would buy for themselves. ($48)

When I saw this, I had one of those moments where I literally was like “What will they think of next?!” - it’s an iPhone photo printer! You stick your phone right on the little charger and you can print your photos instantly. Seriously amazing. ($159.99)

How cool is this Marc by Marc Jacobs laptop bag? I love the reptile print with the neon accents! ($130)

Bose is famous for their noise-canceling headphones - they’re a splurge, but I can personally attest that they’re worth it! My dad gave me these a couple years ago and anytime I fly, they’re in my bag - I never hear the crying babies on airplanes! ($300)

When in doubt, you can’t go wrong with giving a techie a giftcard to the Apple Store. They’ll thank you a million times and then geek out to their heart’s content :)

Hope you’re enjoying these gift guides and finding them helpful! Next up, we’re tackling stuff for the guys - so ladies, if you’re stuck on finding the perfect thing for your brother, cousin, or boyfriend, hopefully you’ll find the perfect thing. Check back tomorrow!

Royal Gift Guide: Presents for the Home

Hi everyone! Hope you all had fabulous weekends. I spent mine doing lots of fun stuff - playing with babies, seeing movies, spending the day in San Diego visiting R’s grandparents - but I managed to squeeze in some time for Hanukkah gift shopping... the holidays are right around the corner!

In that vein, I thought I’d try and help my readers out by creating several gift guides! Every day this week, I’ll be posting a group of beautiful things that hopefully will help you find something perfect for someone special in your life.

Today’s gift guide is designed for someone who loves decorating their home and surrounding themselves with beautiful things and trinkets. Let’s take a look, shall we?

home

A fantastic gift is a cozy throw! I can’t think of anything snugglier than one of these beautiful blankets, especially in this season’s major print - chevron! ($150)

I love these little heart bowls - perfect for filling with M&Ms for entertaining! I also envision one set out in an entryway to keep track of your keys - smart, right? ($71)

One of my favorite things to buy someone as a gift is a gorgeous picture frame. Take it a step further and put a picture of you and the recipient inside it so it’s all ready to be displayed! I love the pretty colors and patterns of these Haymarket frames. ($40-$50)

How fun is this Jonathan Adler mug? It’s got the face of a king on one side and the face of a queen on the other. Royally perfect! ($26)

Yall - I am seriously dying over this olive oil jug. You KNOW how I feel about rainbows and stripes. Best part is - it comes already filled with delicious, high-quality olive oil, and once you’ve used it all up, it’ll look gorgeous on your shelf! ($48)

I’ve had my eye on this jewelry holder for a long time - it’s so delicate and beautiful. What a gorgeous way to display treasured necklaces, bracelets, and earrings! ($98)

I can’t imagine any lover of interior design/decorating NOT wanting one of these coffee table books. I own Grace Bonney’s Design*Sponge At Home - it’s fantastic - and I have my eye on Deborah Needleman’s (of Domino fame, RIP) The Perfectly Imperfect Home. (Each under $20!)

Personally, I would squeal of happiness if I opened a present containing any one of these! Let me know what you think - see anything you want yourself?

Check back tomorrow for another gift guide - this time featuring some great accessories for the techie in your life!

The 2011 Jordan Marisa Rose Hanukkah List!

It’s December! Christmas lights are everywhere and everyone is putting their trees up and “All I Want For Christmas” is on rotation everywhere, but guess what? HANUKKAH is also around the corner!

Hanukkah! The Maccabees and the miracle of only eight days of oil and latkes and gelt and menorahs and dreidels and OH THAT’S RIGHT, EIGHT NIGHTS OF PRESENTS!!!!!!!

You can tell I’m excited, right?

WELL. The good news is, for those of you who have waited twelve long months with bated breath, it’s finally time to release the Annual Jordan Marisa Rose Hanukkah Wish List shortly (if you’re new around here, please see the 2008, 2009 and 2010 lists and familiarize yourself beforehand).

(I tried to rein myself in, yall - NOT featured on the list are the countless Chanel bags and Louboutin heels and Balenciaga ballet flats and everysinglethingJ.Crewmakesorevenbreatheson that I lust and drool over daily!)

Let’s stop beating around the bush. Without further ado, the 2011 JMRS Hannukah Wish List, in honor of MOST DESIRED:

han

Canon Powershot Elph 310

After two and a half years, my beloved digital camera is on its last legs. It’s time for an upgrade - I can’t decide if I like snazzy purple or classic black, so I’ll let the gift-giver decide :)

Alexander Wang Rocco Bag

I’ve been alternating between saving up and begging my mom to buy me this gorgeous bag, but she keeps rejecting me. Maybe if I put it on the Hanukkah wish list she’ll give in? Doubtful... in which case, a Bloomingdales or Nordstrom gift card would work so I can add to my savings!

iPad Keyboard

I got the iPad for my birthday and I love it like it’s my own child, but my main gripe is I can’t blog on it very easily! This wireless keyboard will let me blog, email, tweet, and Facebook on my iPad til the cows come home!

Harry Potter - The Complete 8-Film Collection

Anyone who knows me knows that I turn into a shrieking fourteen year-old girl anytime anyone mentions HP. For the past decade I have obsessively read each book over and over and seen the films in theaters at midnight -- owning this boxed set will prevent me from having to Tivo every single one of the films any time it runs on ABC Family!

J.Crew Hot Pink Overnight Bag

The cutest, right? For someone who travels as much as I do, why not do it in style? The pink is so pretty, and the price is so reasonable!

LOVE Paperweight

I can’t explain why I love this so much - I just do. It’s a paperweight based on the famous Robert Indiana sculpture and I am dying to put it on one of my shelves as a special little accent. (In a dream world I’d also get the Hebrew version and use them as bookends!) It comes in four colors but I am partial to the gold.

So there you have it! The list is now out there :) Hanukkah starts in a little over two weeks and I, for one, cannot wait. Fingers crossed!

If you’re making a wish list for the holidays, I’d love to see it - leave me a link or just list your items in the comments!

Wishing you a fabulous weekend!
