Funemployment Finale

This day has been a long time coming, yall. Today is my last official day of funemployment!

I call it funemployment for a few reasons. I haven’t had a fulltime job since January, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been working hard. However, consulting and working freelance means a lot more flexibility with my days - and that means time for some fun. Hence, funemployment!

I’ve done a lot in these past 9 months. I wrote a few articles that got published in two major international newspapers and magazines. I got calls from lots of different companies and organizations, asking me to come in and teach them some of my skills. I got to travel to Israel - not once, not twice, not three times, but FOUR TIMES, and fall in love with that country over and over again.

And finally, I started a working relationship with a certain Jewish nonprofit organization that really fulfilled me. Each week when I went in for new assignments, and every day when I sat at my desk at home working, I felt really happy - like I had found a really good match. And in the end, the match worked out - yay!

I’m going to spend this last day of unemployment doing what I’ve been doing all year - a little work, and a little fun. I finished a few flyers and bulletin board copy this morning, and now I’m off to treat myself to some sushi and a few things in the Bloomingdales Friends & Family Sale!

Hope you enjoy your weekends - I know I will!
