"I’m Your Biggest Fan, I’ll Follow You Until You Love Me"

Last week. Staples Center. Two divas came together. And it was FABULOUS.

Yes friends, I survived the Lady Gaga concert. IT WAS AMAZING! Everything I thought it would be and more :)

On Thursday afternoon I got all dressed up in my best sequin blazer (yes I have several), poofy cupcake dress, studded shoes, biker jewels, turquoise eye makeup, and OH YES -- soda cans in my hair! That’s right, I took a cue from Gaga’s Telephone video and rolled my hair up in Diet Coke cans. AMAZING! I picked up Greene (all decked out in silver sparkle leggings and a sequined top) and we headed downtown for some sushi and GAGA!

The show was fantastic - and by that I mean both the actual concert AND the show outside... AKA, all of her diehard fans decked to the nines in insane outfits! We saw people in Gaga outfits, dresses, leotards, tutus, wigs - you name it.... and that was just the MEN! (Dead serious.) It was SO cool to see everyone’s creativity. While walking to the concert, a lot of people waved and cheered to me because of my soda can hair, which I obviously loved, and when we got inside, a girl stalked me into the bathroom and waited until I emerged from the stall to ask if she could take my picture!

Yes, this obviously made me feel like a celebrity and put me in a delightful mood, which was only continued when we finally got inside and found our amazing seats - dead center with a perfect view of the stage!

Okay, here are the goods. GOD, can that woman sing. Her voice is fantastic, her costumes were unreal, her backup dancers were amazing, and the sets were ridiculous. See for yourself!

If I may be serious for a moment -- after we left, I thought about what made this concert so unique, and I want to share it with all of you, because I think it’s an important thing and I give Lady Gaga a lot of credit for what she does.

At several points during the show, between songs, Gaga spoke to the audience. In addition to thanking everyone for being there, buying a ticket to support her, and being such big fans, she also made a point to share a message of love and acceptance. She told everyone in the crowd to put everything in their lives aside for that one night, and just bask in the love and acceptance and joy that she was sending out.

“Tonight in Los Angeles, we are going to be super-free little monsters.The best thing about the Monster Ball is that I created it so that my fans would have a place to go — a place where all of the freaks are outside,” she said. “And I locked the fucking door. “

It sounds a little crazy, but I really did feel as though everyone there -- no matter who they are, what they do, or where they’re from -- felt the atmosphere of love that she had created, and was able to truly relax, put their lives on hold, and escape into the magic of the show. It was a very special and unique feeling to have at a concert of that magnitude, and for that, I really admire and applaud her.

Before I go, I want to give a very special shout-out to the Greene Bean for being such a wonderful friend and surprising me with tickets for my birthday. WHAT A FABULOUS GIFT! I love you very much and I had SOOOO much fun :) you are the best!
