As we all know, once I get a thought in my head, I can’t let it go. And currently all thoughts are being focused on buying something particular - a new black sparkly clutch!
I used to have a problem with buying clutches... the problem being that I bought too many! Clutches, are, of course, one of the most fun things to buy - they’re small and light, they’re usually in a bright color or pretty pattern, and best of all, they’re one size fits all!
There was a while (back in college when I went out five nights a week) that I bought a new clutch or going-out bag nearly every time I went to the mall. You name it, I’ve got it - leather, jeweled, quilted, leopard print, appliqued, patterned, neon... Once I realized that my collection had grown a little out of control, however, I put a moratorium on all clutch purchases.
Until now, that is. At the wedding last week I realized something odd - I had plenty of plain black clutches, but no SPECIAL black clutches. I wanted to wear one with a little sparkle or glitter to dress up my lace dress, and realized my collection was missing that key piece. So, cue the search!

I’ve seen the multicolored Anya Hindmarch Valorie Clutch splashed all over the internet, but it wasn’t until I began my search that I realized it also came in black! At $395, it’s more than I wanted to spend, but it is truly a little work of art. I love the turnlock closure!

The Westward Ingenue Clutch is part of the Kate Spade and Current/Elliott collaboration, and it is absolutely gorgeous. The striped lining, the beautiful brown leather hardware and detachable strap, and the subtle sequins - there’s nothing I don’t love about it, except the insane price - $545!

Speaking of Kate Spade, their own Sparkle Summit Agathe Clutch is beautiful as well. I’m a big fan of patent leather, and once again, the detachable strap is key. It’s a little pricey at $295, but it’s definitely a classic.

I cannot tell a lie, I’m not at all familiar with this brand, but I swooned over the Ambre & Babzoe Desy Sequin Clutch. I love the intricate sequins and beading - in addition to black, it also comes in a pretty goldish/grey color called Clay - and it’s also more reasonably priced at $150.
The ones above are all gorgeous, and I considered nearly all of them. However, it wasn’t until I was reading Alyson’s blog The Average Girl’s Guide a couple days ago when I stumbled upon the perfect one:

This Zara clutch comes in black and gold, has built-in credit card pockets and a cute zip top, and is only $60 - the perfect price! I ordered it as soon as I saw it. I’m really happy with my purchase - l know I’ll have this classic, chic, funky piece for a long time!
Now if it would only come in the mail NOW! I don’t want to wait any longer!
YAY! You are so going to love it. I have it in gold but kind of want it in black, too, it's that amazing. ENJOY (and thanks for the shout out).
